Our Commitment to Accessibility
At NickNameStyle, we believe the internet should be accessible to everyone. We continually evaluate our digital tools, generators, and content pages to adhere to the Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG 2.1) Level AA standards wherever practical.
Accessibility Measures Implemented
We have designed our interface with numerous accessibility enhancements:
- Keyboard Navigation: All interactive elements—including inputs, dropdown selectors, category filters, copy buttons, and modal dialogs—can be navigated and activated using standard keyboard keys (Tab, Shift+Tab, Enter, Spacebar, Escape).
- Visible Focus Rings: High-contrast cyan outline indicators (
outline: 2px solid #06b6d4) appear on all focused interactive elements to assist keyboard-only users. - Color Contrast: Text colors, buttons, and borders are designed with strong contrast ratios against our deep navy surfaces to maximize legibility for users with low vision or color vision deficiencies.
- Semantic HTML: Pages use logical heading structures (H1, H2, H3), descriptive link anchors, explicit form labels, and semantic container tags (
header, nav, main, article, footer). - Screen-Reader Live Regions: Floating copy confirmation toasts utilize
role="status"andaria-live="polite"attributes so assistive technologies announce copy events without interrupting the user. - No Keyboard Traps: Modal overlays and popups can be closed immediately by pressing the
Escapekey or clicking the designated close button.
Unicode Typography and Screen Readers
Users should be aware that mathematical alphanumeric Unicode symbols (such as bold, fraktur, or script letters) are interpreted literally by screen-reading software. For example, text styled in Fraktur may be read aloud as "Mathematical Fraktur Capital G". For this reason, we recommend that users maintain critical information—such as emails, legal notices, and core navigation—in standard alphanumeric text.
